Glad to see you again, loyal blog readers!
I'm back again with another session featuring the oh-so-charming Kenna Jaymes. Kenna’s parents, Kate and Brian, were lucky enough to win a milestone session for Kenna, who was about to turn 9 months old. I think I was pretty lucky, too. They are such a sweet family!
Miss Kenna loves Mickey and Minnie- who helped Kenna smile during her session. She loves to sing so we played music and sang along during her session.
Speaking of Kenna's mom, Kate did a fabulous job prepping her for this 9 month milestone session. She was very easy going, allowing me to help style the classic session. We got to use some new backdrops, props, and a couple outfits from my studio collection, as well as the adorable green outfit that Kenna brought with her. Kate and Brian even brought a balloon, which Kenna had loads of fun with!
Anyway, I'll get straight to it. Check out pictures of little Kenna below:

After a very long labor, Lauren and Derek welcomed their first child into the world. Chloe was born the end of March at 19 inches and 7 lbs 7 oz. Lauren was so happy to have her healthy baby girl in her arms and thought "wow, she's so big". Now, two months later, she happily looks back at Chloe's newborn photos and realizes how quickly they grow...and how tiny she really was!
A week later, I welcomed Chloe, Lauren, and Derek into my studio for Chloe's big day! She was very sweet and amazingly alert for just one week old. Something tells me she will be smart like her momma! Lauren was prepared and relaxed for the session. Of course, she was worried about Chloe not cooperating or peeing on me...but as I assure everyone...I expect it! Lauren was happy with the time and patience I took during their session...and look at some of the great memories we captured!
Most new mom's are worried about how their newborn will do during the session. Newborn sessions are an investment, so its important that you feel comfortable with your photographer! Lauren said, "I was mostly worried that [Chloe] would be fussy, which she was, but Kirsten was super patient with her. I was also nervous that I was going to look enormous after having the baby a week prior, but Kirsten made me look amazing. I couldn’t be happier with how the pictures came out." As a mom of three, I completely understand!
On an unseasonably warm day in May, I had the pleasure of meeting the Day Family, with their newest addition. Emma was just 22 days new and super adorable! The lifestyle session was perfect because, when fussy, it allowed her to be in comfortable surroundings in their beautiful Canton home, cradled by mom and dad. Emma napped off and on, swaddled and held by her parents for the first part of the session. Then, we were able to capture some solo images of Emma.
Lifestyle sessions bring a warmth to newborn sessions. The pictures that result are personal and familiar. What wonderful memories to capture and pass to future generations.
It was a wonderful privilege to photograph Jessica and Justine, two sisters and new mothers. They had a special surprise in mind for their parents! I drove to Justine's beautiful home in Canton to capture this special time in their lives.
I had met Jessica and her daughter just a month or so earlier for their newborn sessions, when Jessica mentioned wanting to do this session for their parents. I was excited to see that Little Miss was alert and becoming less of a newborn. It is wonderful to see that progression in such a short time. She is lucky to have a (slightly older)baby cousin to grow up with.
Even Charlie, the beloved family dog, was ready to take a portrait.
Little Miss Emerson...what can I say...the girl has personality! At just 10 days new, she was the most alert and curious newborn I have ever had the pleasure of photographing. She was interesting in lifting her head to peer around. I think she is preparing to be on her toes as the fourth little girl in her family!
She fooled me with big yawns a few times, but she did eventually fall asleep when swaddled tight. I think she wanted to be part of the experience and not miss a thing! It was a pleasure to photograph Emerson and her family, here in my Attleboro, MA studio. I can't wait to see how her personality blooms as she grows!
Please enjoy a sampling of her newborn gallery!
