Lately, the KM Photography blog theme is LOTS of photos! I have had so many great sessions recently and I want to share them all with you. This session was no different and very special for me. I got a chance to work with the Magic Hour Foundation and donate a full family session for the Laferriere family (Jess, Brian, and Averie), who came to visit me in my Attleboro studio. I want to share some of my favorites from their session. Jess admitted that she was a bit nervous about the session, but at the end she told me how much fun she had (YES!). I enjoyed meeting her and her family and seeing them interact. All three of them were so sweet and the love between them was apparent. I think you'll agree that their love and fun personalities show through their portraits! The Magic Hour Foundation is one that pairs those in the fight against cancer with photographers for charitable photo sessions. The families receive digital images from their sessions, as long a beautiful box containing their prints. When I first started my business, I looked for a foundation to donate my time. Volunteerism is a big part of my life. My grandmother was one of my best friends and role models. She was always volunteering her time, even while battling lung cancer, until she was too ill to continue. Because of that, the Magic Hour Foundation was a perfect fit. It is near to my heart to give the gift of portraits to families affected by cancer and allowing their legacy to continue for generations through portraits. Jessica is a wife, mother, former US Marine, and also studied to be a dental hygienist! She lives with her husband, Brian, and young daughter, Averie. In July 2016, at the age of 33, she was diagnosed with stage 2b invasive ductal carcinoma. She was also a brand new mother of a 9 month old at the time of her diagnosis. In September, just 4 days after Averie's 1st birthday , she went in to have her right breast removed. She completed 8 rounds of chemo on 1/31/17 and 33 rounds of radiation on 5/18/17! It’s been quite the year, but she is still alive and enjoying her life and family! She is truly a strong woman and a survivor.

Former local residents, Melissa and Colton, came from western MA to Seekonk for a session at Seekonk Meadows on the evening of the eclipse. These two were planning ahead for their holiday cards and beat the fall rush of clients! What a wonderful reason to get pictures done as a couple; they hadn't had pictures taken since their wedding.
We had lots of laughs posing, while I learned some more about these two wonderful individuals. You can see their bubbly personalities shine through and their love for one another. Although the weather was very hot, the meadows were preparing for fall and the session resulted in wonderful golds, browns, and greens. I'm certainly in the fall mood after working on these images! Amanda answered my model call a couple months ago and we planned her session at NRT Sheep Pasture ... one of my favorite locations. Amanda and her husband Chris were a pleasure to work with and Chris had us cracking up by the end of the session. I was thrilled to do this session, as she hadn't gotten maternity pictures done with her other baby. The images from this session have become some of my recent favorites. The light was beautiful and Amanda looked amazing! I wish Amanda and Chris lots of luck with their newest delivery...coming soon! Occasionally I will run a model call to update my portfolio, scope out a new location or equipment, or just because I have a vision I am dying to try out. Make sure to like my Facebook page to keep an eye out for other model opportunities! You can check out another recent model call here. To schedule your own maternity session, contact Kirsten at KM Photography.
